Kiva Entrepreneurs Review

Posted in Business Review

Let me first start by telling you about Kiva (www.kiva.org), it’s a website that allows individuals, businesses and charities to loan out money from $25 + to people in many poverty ridden countries who have businesses and need financial help. Although you don’t make any interest on your money it still remains a risk as there have been examples of illness and livestock deaths which result in the money not being repaid.

Many entrepreneurs do come with Default Protection- In the event of an entrepreneur default, the Field Partner will cover the loan principal.

Last December I decided to give something back and loan out $25 to Tolibjon Kazokboev, a gentleman in Tajikistan who need a total of $1500 to purchase more dried apricots for his business. More info here – http://www.kiva.org/lend/166028

I only decided to get involved as I’m an entrepreneur and wanted to give the opportunity to someone else like I have. So far 40% of my loan has been repaid and will likely re-invest it in someone else in the future.

Repaid so far = $10.25
Outstanding = $14.75

Publication and Press Release Reviews

Posted in Business Review, Power & Money

I have been searching around on the internet and have recently found a number of people looking for people to review their books and also publish their press releases and as a result I wanted to write this brief article.

If you’re looking for an ‘Enterprise’ or ‘Business’ related publication to be reviewed and published on and online media platform then feel free to get in touch. Over the last year or so I have developed my website to what it is today, and this being the 500 article posted. The site also receives over 3,000 unique visitors per month and current views are between 15,000-20,000 and a lot of articles when publishes are often minutes if not seconds listed in Google.

Articles are often then marketed through Facebook and Twitter @rhysgregory.

What Online Media Generates You Business?

Posted in Business Review, Internet, Power & Money, Press Releases, Products, Technology, featured

With businesses taking advantage of online media as a form of marketing, how can you tell which techniques are generating you business? – and of course depending on your business you might even find that marketing offline in the conventional methods might even be better.

I have just been reading about Mediahawk, a company which has partnered with Google Analytics that allows businesses to track customer telephone calls and see how they’ve found out about the business and where they’ve come from in relation to digital marketing campaigns (such as pay per click adverts etc). MediaHawk believe that they have found a gap in the market as at the moment firms are limited in tracking the successfulness of such online campaigns. The complexness of this does mean it’s currently limited to only tracking how many telephone calls have come from online media, however you can see that businesses that use over the phone communication in relation to enquiries and also online media as a form of advertising can make use of it. Some may even find that their customers don’t find them via the internet and as a result may change the way they market themselves, but likewise if successful they will be able to pick out keywords that are successful and invest on those instead of others.

The internet is a highly competitive area for many brands and to be able to have an understanding of which keywords prospects have searched on to find them is essential. Up until now, marketers have only been able to find out this information through their Google analytics tracking. Mediahawk has integrated their call tracking system to show marketeers how many telephone calls have come from particular keyword searches, website promotions and pay per click advertising.
Michael Morrell, Managing Director, Mediahawk

How it works

“Call tracking with Google integration works by allocating telephone numbers using simple coding to track a telephone number from the moment a prospective customer clicks on an online advert. Once the prospect is on the website the number they use to call the dealer will be tracked right from where they originally clicked through. This way all online advertising can be monitored and calls that come from this activity is tracked and displayed in the same way that website traffic currently is.”

“Mediahawk who work with brands such as Kia, Aston Martin and Keith Prowse is confident that the new concept will be welcomed amongst brands that wish to deepen their understanding of offline responses to online marketing techniques. In addition to call tracking, Mediahawk also provide call recording where a marketer can to listen to any inbound sales enquiry. The benefit to this is that all sales calls can be monitored and the content used to improve sales conversion rates.”

TGI Fridays St Davids 2

Posted in Business Review, Lifestyle

Just come back from visiting the new TGI-Fridays at St Davids 2 for the second time and must say it’s starting to become just another TGI Fridays. The service and food is satisfactory and is the same in all the other TGI Fridays. The decor is very good and they have a ‘Hulk’ Figure in the corner which is quite impressive.

What I really liked in particular was the see-thru LED display they had behind the bar. A Custom LED screen which displayed the Bay and Welsh Millennium Centre. The seating is also quite comfortable and personally like the high rise chairs and tables although not to everyone’s taste.

Bacon Skins

When I went there a couple of months I felt it was the best TGI Fridays around… the atmosphere, service, the food.. everything was amazing. I can’t put my finger on it but it was that ‘extra’ good… the checking of our drinks constantly…. wet wipes for chicken wings etc. The problem is now that the magic of the new store seems to have disappeared, perhaps it’s because it’s no longer ‘new’ as such or just the staff that they had on. It seems to have become just like another I have been too.Share your experiences here below… perhaps it was just this occasion.
