Today we had to come up with a way to get across sexual health messages to Teenagers…
I decided to look into a Guerrilla Marketing Campaign where you could advertise on the London Underground. What you’d do is have the train re-covered to look like a condom which goes flying through the tunnels of the underground system.
It will be eye catching and grab peoples attention, it will make people stop and think and also is likely to bring other ‘free’ news coverage around the country and maybe the world.

Car Parking

When we got to the NEC, parking was a nightmare, there were no sign posts or posters telling us or pointing us in the direction for the Student Work Placement Exhibition. There were also a few other cars like us driving around randomly stopping and starting. I think we took it in turns to follow each other, haha.
In the end I parked up in a Car Park where there were ‘Business’ looking people going into. We were told before coming that we’d have to pay £8 for car parking, well the car park we parked in didn’t charge us and later on we discovered we had parked in the wrong place. We had parked by Hall 1 and the LG Arena inside of closer to Hall 11!
The Placement Exhibition
The Placement Exhibition was quite beneficial as it gave a chance for us students to talk to other students who were currently out on their year out. They were able to explain the recruitment process, give us a few hints and tips etc.
Not all stands had students on who were on their year out so it was a bit hit or miss really on who you spoke to.
There were some excellent people on the stands of Marks and Spencers, GM Motors and Exxon Mobil.
I was quite disapointed with the ‘CV Clinic’ – they had a company in that would charge you to look at your CV and then charge you again for helping you out with and covering letters. You can get this advice free from your University or Careers Advisor. Although they charged, I think they were considerably cheaper than some businesses charging on the internet.

Wetherspoons NEC

As me (Rhys Gregory) and Greg Hobbs got to the NEC so earlier we decided to have a Wetherspoons Breakfast. I had a sausage sandwhich which was advertised for £2.99 but got charged £3, a fruit shoot for 50p and a 99p muffin which cost me £1.29.
When we ordered our food I was suprised to find that we were given a pager which would flash and viberate when our food was ready to get from the Cafe. I found this unusal and different, just like something you’d see in a film.

If you’re a Speedy shareholder then you know of the sudden fall in Share Price over the last few weeks. (45p few weeks ago)
We have had a rough couple of days, seeing today we have had an over 2p fall in Share Price,
Now this is just my oppinion but I feel that the reason for this is all the negative press that there has been on the economy, credit crunch and contruction industry and how we might be getting a little too excited on things picking up.
I think people see the contruction/hire industry as one of the few things that are going to take a while to get better and so people are losing confidence in this market and so are moving to other shares instead.
People in recessionm usually go for the safe options, commodities that are ‘Needs’ instead of ‘Wants’, businesses that people still need to buy from no matter what the economic climate.
and Frankly, people don’t want to move house, investors don’t want to buy run down properties and do them up and sell them on for a profit because there are little buyers out there.
People also know that the industry won’t be getting any better over the next few months because of it being Christmas…
However I feel that this is a good price level to get into at the moment, around 34p…
You’ll find that when results come next spring you’ll be thanking your lucky stars you’ve invested now..
By no means am I telling you to invest or sell here, you make your own mind up, do some research into the industry and don’t listen to people like me…

It will be the second time this year if the company has the go ahead to do another rights issue.
For those of you who don’t know, a rights issue is where a company will issue more shares into the market in order to raise more capital. In this case, Lloyds TSB needs to raise a substantial amount of money if it’s to opt out of the Bad Debt Scheme. It needs the money to pay a fee as well as neededing capital to improve it’s accounting books.
My Stance on this?
Now I’m very small when it comes to dealing in shares, I have lost money in cases and have earned money in other areas. Now when I heard about the potential rights issue I thought it’s my turn to get in on this. So I have purchased 634 Lloyds TSB shares so that when the time comes I’m going to be offered the new shares.
I think that in the Long-run the company will do very well and although I feel that HBOS was rubbish at the time when it was brought by Lloyds, I think that the increase in Market Share the both Businesses have now joined will come good in years to come.
If I get the opportunity to free up some money from other shares, I’ll have a punt and put some more into Lloyds.
I’ll post my calculations and working soon….
Current Share Price: 80.06p
- Potential of going as low as high 70s tomorrow….
