Tesco not so Innocent

Posted on - 7th June 2010

This is probably the second time in the last couple of months that has happened to me whilst purchasing products from Tesco. Firstly it was to do with bags of crisps being a couple of weeks out of expiry but now it’s innocent.

You can understand yogurt type products not to have an overly long shelf life but the annoying thing was the packaging. The innocent packaging only displays the expiry date on the individual tubes inside the pot. This makes it difficult not only to the individual when checking the date but also to members of staff checking them too.

Personally I thought that especially in the case of crisps, items like these being fast moving consumer goods would have been purchased long before they expired.

Of course there’s nothing stopping you from going back to the store with your receipt and getting an exchange.. but still. Morrisons own Crisps in the past have been brought and found to have already expired months ago…. however they did offer a free bag of multipack crisps.
