Students Left without Accommodation in 2010?
I have just been reading an interest article written by someone working in the Student Union (Guild) at Aberystwyth where the writer raises concerns over the disregard for looking at the student intake in September 2010 properly.
We’re all aware that in previous years…. especially in 2008 the new students coming to University (Freshers) were left without a place to live due to poor research into the numbers. It looks like we’re going to see this happen again now in 2010.
It was released that the cap of students this year will be about 2500, out of the max capacity of 3470 beds that the University has. The problem is in the consideration of the research as the writer says that it doesn’t consider E.U/International/Postgraduate Students which the University has seen an increasing number of over the years. You’d honest think that if research is going to be done (and that of an University), they’d consider these groups.
Original Article Author raising these concerns, Jon Antoniazzi, Union President.
