Powercut – Aberystwyth University Lectures
Power Cut During Lectures – Aberystwyth University
Date: 11/12/09
Today I went to my last Organisational Behaviour [module] lecture at Aberystwyth’s Llanidam A6 Lecture Room. The lecture was scheduled to start at 4pm to last 2.5 hours.
I arrived early so I was able to setup my laptop at the back of the room ready for the lecture. I must admit I didn’t really want to go to this lecture but I was going for the revision, any essay tips and the use of the internet as I don’t have it currently installed in my new flat.
I was able to do a bit of online banking, check the share prices and a bit of eBay before I started looking at sources/references for my essay.
The lecture had only just started and there was a power-cut. It was quite unusual because I’d never been in a lecture when this has happened so it was quite interesting to see how it would pan out.
In any case, the computer, along with the PowerPoint presentation and projector all went off. All that was powered on was the emergency lighting along with my laptop (now running off of battery). Silly me expecting to still use the internet but of course it had knocked off the wireless routers and modems etc so I unable to.
In the end the lecturer was able to talk briefly about revision and the slides that she had up. The lecture finished early at 5pm instead of the expected 6.30pm.
