Galloway Bookseller Ltd – Aberystwyth Review

This bookshop has been in Aberystwyth for a very long time and it’s sad to see it has now gone.

Students loved this shop as it offered all of their course books in one place, you could get student discount here and even compare books before you buy them.

I’m very disappointed to see that it has gone.

There’s a Waterstones in Aberystwyth but it doesn’t offer the books that students at the University need.

The Fall

I do believe that when I asked they said that they were going under because of the ‘internet’ with websites like Amazon offering books cheaper in some cases.

The thing is, I don’t believe this is the full story,

There’s something missing here, if this was the reason for the shop closing (probably rent issues as well) then why wouldn’t they invest in an online shop and look at diversifying into this market.
