Making the Transition from A-Levels to Degree level is something that everyone needs to work on. I myself got A in Business Studies and B in Economics and although I really like ‘Business’ and work hard I wasn’t quite ready for the jump to degree level.
I found that some of my essays such as ‘Business Environment’ in Aberystwyth University were getting marks at around 50-55% and frankly, I was quite shocked!
Not until quite recently I found this book, Study Skills for Business and Management Students by Barbara Allan.
It sounds silly but it tells you about this transition and what’s looked for in your work at University. It gives advice on time management etc:
- Personal Management Skills
- Different approaches to being successful
- Finding Business and Management information
- Assessments
- Working in Groups
I just wish I had found this sooner. Perhaps even before I started University.
