Last Year for Tuition Fee Grants in Wales – What can be Expected

Apparently this is the last year that Welsh Assembly will be paying towards tuition fees for students from Wales Studying in Wales.

What can be expected from this?

The likely hood is that it will be busiest year that Welsh Universities have seen with an even greater influx of students that have just finished their A-Levels and mature students who may have been putting off University for a while.

I know that last year Aberystwyth under estimated the amount of Students that would take up courses and study and they weren’t ready for this and saw shortages of accommodation with Students even being put up in Hotels!

Not just accommodation but will the Universities in Wales have a strain on resources if more Students decide to take up their University placements? – are they doing enough to ensure they can accommodate these students?

I know a lot of Universities in Wales are expanding their campus’ but are unlikely to be ready in time for this year’s students.

I’ll be re-visiting this topic at the start of September to see how they are all doing.
